Dog Heaven at Brooke's Shower

Dogs were everywhere.

Felicia asked Lena and Sonia if we should be allowed to roam at the shower. Fortunately they said yes.

Then Holly and India told us all to go outside with our luncheon plates and wait to open shower presents.

First, we played a game, "How well do you know Chris and Brooke?"

Dolce was partial to Brit Victoria.

Whilst Chris's sister Claire held Peaches. Lynda (behind) is partial to dogs as well. She held Sacha until Peaches and Sacha broke into a fight. But Lynda's hands stayed intact! Felicia held me.

Brooke Showers

It was time for Brooke's Bridal shower.

La Crave on 28th Street catered.

It couldn't have been done without Lena and Sonia.

Miss Ashley liked Sacha. She is Phineas's owner.

We ate, played a game, and then Brooke opened gifts!

British Invasion

The Brits arrived for Brooke's wedding: Victoria, Emma, and Chris's sister Claire (below, with Victoria). Left, above, the Bride's sister Holly, middle, Brooke, and on the right, Elizabeth who created an amazing ToothBrush Cake (more on that later).



Suzy liked Peaches.

Ben and James paid attention to Brooklyn.

Then everyone had their favorite X-Rated Liqueur, except the men, who had beer.

Brooklyn liked Ben, from P.E.I., a lot!

Snakes, Bob and Mario: Say Hello

Felicia found a garter snake in the back yard. He hissed at her. But she got her photo and let us say hello to the snake before she let him go again.

Michael visited Takashi's apartment.

He said hello to Bunni, Takashi's python.

Bob, author of Water, was at Julie's house, painting. Bob said hello to Dolce.

Afterwards, Dolce went inside Julie's house and said hello to Mario.

A Matter of Life and Death

It was a beautiful day by the beach.

Everyone decided to tube down the Crystal River.

Nubby showed us all how to enter the water.

But within minutes, there was High Drama at Sea.

India's tube hit a tree branch.

Her intertube sank.

But Ashley saved the day.

Like a Navy Seal, she took charge.

She pulled the group to safety.

They were lucky to make it back to shore alive.

They were wet, and cold, but happy!

India is suffering PTSS, but we hope that she will recover in time for Brooke's Big Day!

Brooke's Rules of Engagement

It was a dark and stormy night as we headed to northern Michigan to celebrate Brooke's wedding with a party at the cottage.

Brooklyn and I slept the whole way up, three hours.

Even Dolce for a change settled down on Felicia's lap.

The first person we met at the cottage was Phineas, whose owners are Brooke's friends CJ and Ashley.

Holly and Victoria from Devon, England, posed with Ashley and Phineas.

Phineas (with CJ) was much better behaved than most of our family.

India chewed on a piece of gum as Holly pulled a Brooke, behind her big sister.

Darling Nubby joined us as well! He showed us all how to tube down the Crystal River (more on that tomorrow).

Dinner was lovely, and Chris grilled a wonderful meal. I got to eat some leftovers.

Brooke also served sushi.

And then we all settled in for a talk...

...with the rest of the crew.

Ella Swims!

Rocky brought over his little niece, Ella, to swim.

We were all happy to meet her. Sacha was particularly taken with Ella!
