This has been quite a year! A lot has happened...trips to San Francisco, New York, Palm Beach, South Beach, Puerto Vallerta, Tucson Arizona, and Chicago! In between trips, we also moved to our third house in three years! I think Felicia is done moving (and taking a bath on real estate) for a while now--at least that's what she claims. Plus, India graduated from High School and is now a freshman in college! In addition, last but NOT least, we got our latest (and Felicia swears, final,) dog, Dolce, the Pomeranian. Dolce wanted her picture high on the masthead today, but I've given her enough attention since she joined our household. She may be a puppy, and she may be cute, but this is MY blog. It's called, The Maia Chronicles, not The Dolce Chronicles. (The Dolce Chronicles doesn't even sound as good!) Well, the old year may be over, but we have a nice surprise to kick off 2009! Esteemed poet Robert VanderMolen has a new book out, called Water, and he has agreed to let me interview him! More about Robert and his book later. The interviews will start next week. In the meantime, I wish you all a Very HAPPY NEW YEAR! See you next year!
Meet my family: Apricot Toy Poodle Peaches, the smart one, born October 30, 1995; Sacha, AKA "Crack Baby," an Italian Greyhound, born February 19, 2004; Me, Maia(see profile, below), born August 8, 2006, and the almost-baby of the family Dolce, "Bear," born July 28, 2008. Our newest--and last--addition is Brooklyn Cruz, "little boy," born November 10, 2008. (R.I.P., Bijoux, "the jewel," July 4, 1994-Jan 2006, and Paco, May 13, 1999--December 26, 2006 and Alpha Dog Max, a ShihTzu, July 10, 1994-October 17, 2011.) Read about trips, causes (Student Veterans of America, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America), and fashion ( Fendi, Gucci, and Mango), as well as interviews with writer and artist friends, all at The Maia Chronicles. For a complete display of world-famous photog/stylist/make-up artist Takashi Matsuzaki-designed Maia Chronicle Headers, see April 1 & 3 posts, 2009.
My name is Maia. I was born on August 8, 2006. I weigh slightly over two pounds, and am small enough to fit in my owner's purses. The first thing my owner did after picking me up at the Ft.Lauderdale airport in January 2007, was to take me to Worth Avenue in Palm Beach and put me in a yellow Ferragamo bag. (See October 22 '08 post, "Shopping on Worth Avenue.") Now, whenever we travel, it seems like I'm hiding in a tote. I've sat hidden beside Felicia at the restaurant David Burke & Donatella in NYC, and I've been on her lap at Ago and Skybar at The Shore Club in South Beach. The talented Takashi Matsuzaki (www.jadoretakashi.com), stylist and photog in NYC, designs TMC's headers, with new ones added several times a year (see April 1, 2009 post for complete list). Follow our fashionable adventures on The Maia Chronicles!
