Dawn Takes a Walk

Dawn took a walk.

It was a warmish, sunny and windy New York day. She walked south from 86th and Madison, over to 5th, and found herself all the way to 42nd Street, in front of the NY Public Library. A crowd was hovering over a patch of grass on the library's lawn.

When she got closer, she realized that everyone was taking photos...of a little goldfinch, scratching the earth, calmly looking for food, seemingly unaware of the throngs taking photos.
