Patrick and Ella

We all went to Chicago for Brooke's wedding dress fitting.

While we were there, we stopped by Le Colonial.

On the way back to our hotel we ran into Patrick and Ella, two lovely King Cavalier Spaniels.

Patrick is two years old.

Ella is two months old.

Both were bought from a breeder in Holland, Michigan. Small world...

Racoons in Central Park Garbage Cans!

Takashi's friend Yori Irisawa translated the book The Kissing Hand, to Japanese.

The Kissing Hand is about racoons.

Yori was in Central Park recently, and she heard noises coming from a garbage can.

She looked inside and found a baby racoon.

The can was too tall and heavy for her, so she got an employee of the zoo to help her.

The zoo employee dumped over the can, and Baby Racoon escaped.

Dolce's Birthday Bags

Dolce had a very happy First Birthday party.

She went to New York's Chanel store on 57th Street and chose two bags.

But she only wanted the small ones, so she left the large bags behind! Felicia was so mad!

Dolce's Birthday Blues

I've been worried about Dolce.

Dolce is in a bad mood, because no one can go to the New York Fendi store for her First Birthday party celebration on Tuesday.

She's shredding things right and left, and changed the venue to the Amway Grand Plaza's Ambassador Ballroom, which is where EVERYTHING gets held. That's not what she wanted.

But she's already picked out the coat she's going to wear.

And she put this Noeud d'Amour Valentino clutch on her birthday registry list at Bergdorf's.

Gucci and Bowery

The last time we went to New York we spent some time with Johanna, at the stunning 5th Avenue Gucci store.

Felicia wanted to buy some of the beautiful clothes there, but Dolce had maxed out her Visa, so she couldn't!

Then we made a trip to the Bowery Hotel, in SoHo.

It's one of those small, boutique hotels. Where, by the way, Robert Pattinson is supposedly staying and hangs out at...

We sat in the courtyard and enjoyed the fruitplate. The server brought us freshly baked banana bread.

So we enjoyed our mimosas and banana bread, whiling away our time, waiting for our favorite vampire to show up...

Takashi, India and Felicia on the Roof (of the Met)

Takashi, India and Felicia paid a visit to the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

They checked out artist Roxy Paine's (American, born 1966) Maelstrom.

Maelstrom looked like a huge, fallen chromed tree.

Its random-ness and shiny silver contrasted well with the buildings behind it, and the 130-foot-long by 45-foot-wide stainless-steel sculpture encompassed nearly the entire 8,000-square-foot Roof Garden.

Maelstrom was site-specific and the largest sculpture to have been installed on the roof of the Met. (Photo: Sofia Paine.)

The view from the Met Roof was amazing.

And where else could one simultaneously enjoy the world's best art and the world's greatest martini with the world's greatest friends?
