How an All-American Family Celebrates Father's Day (and Welcomes an American Soldier Just Home from Iraq)

First, welcome the soldier into your home (it goes without saying)...

Then add a home-cooked meal by two talented chefs...

..with All-American strawberries, rhubarb, watermelon and grilled chicken plus veggies...

..to make a dinner plate that looks like this.

Add a loving sister...

and an equally loving, supportive uncle (the other one and his family are traveling)...

...and combine them all at a table.

For dessert, choose a talented next-generation chef named Anna...

...who makes (from-scratch) chocolate vanilla cake with a hint of almond, filled with strawberries.
And when the American Soldier is a member of the family, how could something as simple as a home-cooked meal on Father's Day possibly not take place?
Till tomorrow,
Love, Maia
