America Gothic in Chicago

After taking our morning walk in Chicago, and checking out the statues based on the classic painting "American Gothic," by Grant Wood, it was time to shop 'til we dropped.

We spent the afternoon on the famous Oak Street, right around the corner from The Magnificent Mile. First, we visited the delightful Scott, at Loro Piana.

Then we crossed the street to the David Yurman boutique.

India had fun trying on rings, like the pretty one we'd seen on pretty Taylor, just back from Europe with the also lovely Rachael at Brennan's graduation party!

Then it was time for Graff to see the always chic Gabriela, who showed us these amazing briolette sapphires! Maybe we can borrow them to wear at Brooke's wedding?

And who should we run into at Prada on Oak, but our friend Gay! We saw Gay last summer at Cru, with her then-new baby, Fergie, just bought at Pocket Puppies on North Clark! Seeing Fergie from Pocket Puppies resulted in the addition of a crazed white Pom named Dolce to our household! Big mistake!

Fergie, whom Gay has dubbed "The Duchess of Oak," is all grown up now, and loved playing with me! I wasn't quite so enthusiastic.

But we said hello and then it was time to leave for dinner at Spiaggia with Gabriela and Vanessa! I stayed in the hotel room.
Till tomorrow,
Love, Maia

Sooo cute. Have looked better but your pix are cool, especially being taken in Prada. I totally forgot to try on shoes!
Maia, you are so nice to remember me; I did not forget you either. Next time you come to Chicago, let's have a playdate. I'll have some FAB clothes for you from my new collection.
Hope to see you soon.
All the best,
Fergie, Duchess of Oak Street
