Molly the Wonder Dog!

I just found a letter that Dolce wrote to Louis Vuitton as well! Dolce wants to moonlight there after she's done at Fendi and get discounts at both fashion houses! More tomorrow, but first, a break from all that high fashion intrigue to showcase a beautiful Australian Shepherd named Molly on "Guest Dog Day"!

Today's "Guest Dog" is originally from Allegan, Michigan! Molly will be 6 years young on June 16. June 16 is Bloom's Day in Ireland...Leopold Bloom being a character in James Joyce's classic novel, Ulysses. Bloom's Day is "a commemoration observed annually on 16 June in Dublin, Ireland and elsewhere to celebrate the life of Irish writer James Joyce and relive the events in his novel Ulysses, all of which took place on the same day in Dublin in 1904. The name derives from Leopold Bloom, the protagonist of Ulysses, and 16 June was the date of Joyce's first outing with his wife-to-be, Nora Barnacle, when they walked to the Dublin village of Ringsend." (Wikipedia.) Leopold's wife is the passionate Molly Bloom. Did the Australian Shepherd's professor owners name her?
No! She was already called Molly when they found her! Coincidence?

Drs. Stan Krohmer and Patricia Clark, Molly-the-Dog's professor and poet owners, found Molly on Petfinders.com, after their Sheltie, Rosie, passed away at 16-1/2 years.

Molly is rambunctious (as Australian Shepherds are known to be!), and so spirited that Stan and Patricia fantasized about returning her after just one week! (They were used to a geriatric dog, after all!) But obedience classes calmed Molly down, and now she's a beloved member of the fam, who loves the beach, just like me! (Back at 3 P.M! Ha ha.)

Molly takes long walks with Patricia, and loves to play Frisbee until exhaustion. Patricia has set up an agility course that Molly loves to jump over and under and around and through! She does growl just a bit when Stan gives Patricia a goodbye hug...but no dog is perfect, right? Except for possibly me. At least, that's what everyone but Dolce says.
Till tomorrow,
Love, Maia
P.S. Patricia Clark's latest book of poetry, She Walks into the Sea, debuts September '09, published by Michigan State University Press. More on Patricia and her poetry this fall! Click here to order My Father on a Bicycle, Clark's previous tome.
P.P.S. Australian Shepherds, despite their name, originated in America!
